The following is an inlet flue configuration for one of our projects
Inlet duct is installed between the Non-metallic expansion joint at the side of the GT and the diverter damper. There are two inlet duct for the bypass system this project.
For the inlet duct Ⅰ, its inlet dimension(gas path) is Φ6410mm, and its outlet dimension is 7000mm×7000mm. For the inlet duct Ⅱ, its inlet dimension is 7000mm×7000mm, and its outlet dimension is 7800mm×7800mm. Inlet duct adopt internal heat insulation structure, the liner material is stainless steel (thickness is 3mm ), the casing material is A36(thickness is 12 mm ).

The chimney effect is the result of the combined action of the thermal pressure formed by the indoor and outdoor temperature difference and the outdoor and wind pressure, usually the former is dominant, and the thermal pressure value is proportional to the air density difference caused by the indoor and outdoor temperature difference and the height difference of the air inlet and outlet. This shows that the higher the indoor temperature is than the outdoor temperature, the higher the building is, and the more obvious the chimney effect is. It also shows that the chimney effect of civil buildings generally only occurs in winter. As far as a building is concerned, in theory, the half-height position of the building is regarded as the neutralization surface, and it is considered that the room below the neutralization surface infiltrates the air from the outside, and the rooms above the neutralization surface seep air from the interior.
Under the action of the chimney effect, the indoor organized natural ventilation and smoke exhaust can be realized, but its negative effects are also multi-faceted: first, the sand blows into the room through various holes and gaps in the lower part, consuming heat and polluting the room. ; Secondly, the air is drawn from the bottom hall door to the top floor through the elevator shaft, resulting in the elevator door not closing normally; third, when a fire occurs, with the sharp increase of indoor air temperature, the volume increases rapidly, The chimney effect is more obvious. At this time, various shafts become vertical passages for pulling out fire and smoke, which is the main way for the fire to spread vertically, thus contributing to the expansion of the fire. According to some data, the vertical diffusion speed of flue gas in the vertical tube well is 3-4m/s, which means that for a high-rise building with a height of 100m, it only takes about 30s for the fireworks to travel directly from the bottom to the top. If the burning conditions are in place, the entire building may form a sea of fire in an instant.
