HRSG Bypass Stack System
Bypass stack system has a three-way valve that discharges exhaust gas from the GT, either into the atmosphere via a by-pass stack or into a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG). As well as high capacity, it surpasses the norm in terms of geometrical sealing, sealing pressure and closing time, while reducing maintenance and easing transportation and assembly. This new diverter also allows for a rapid transition from single cycle to combined cycle systems.
When evaluating an HRSG bypass damper system, keep in mind the basic requirements it should meet:
Under maximum airflow conditions, the damper must guarantee zero leakage from the damper when the bypass stack or HRSG is closed.
When the gas turbine is operating at full capacity, the damper is isolating the HRSG, and the seal air system is operating with proper ventilation, the HRSG should be safe for maintenance personnel to enter.
