Insulation Bypass Chimney
The internal insulation system consists of Insulation, Liner Panels, Retaining/Supporting Studs and hardware (see Figure 8).
The thickness of the insulation varies according to customer requirements, typically from 180mm to 230mm. each lays in 50mm thick layers. The insulation material may vary according to specific customer requirements. Ceramic Fiber is the standard material. Refer to the project specific General Arrangement drawing to determine which material is used for each project.
The liner panels material is 409 stainless steel, expect the stack liner thickness is 2mm, others liner thickness is 3mm.
The liner overlap direction is “Overlap-with-the-flow” from the inlet transition through the diverter and into duct extension. This is done to prevent the edges of the liners from being pulled up by turbulent flow exiting the gas turbine.
The panels are placed over the insulation on top of the liner support studs and secured with stainless steel hardware. Special hardware installation specifications will follow. Special notice the liner must be tightened, and there should be two tack welded at 180° between the nut s and bolts, nuts and washers.
