Adjustable Diverter Damper
The diverter damper is a change valve with one entrance and two exits; the designed diverter damper is installed horizontally, which can facilitate the flue gas to flow into the HRSG horizontally or go into the bypass stack vertically; however the two exits of the diverter damper can’t be closed concurrently so as to ensure the combustor to run safely.
The equipment adopts the single-axis doubling piece hydraulic driver.
The operating part of the diverter damper is the damper; when the exhaust gas goes into the flue of the flue gas bypass system, the following actions shall be achieved:
The damper is opened fully（90°）, where the exhaust gas goes into the exhaust heat boiler directly (the machine unit is under the combined cycle)
The damper is closed fully (0°), where the exhaust gas goes into the bypass stack and is discharged into air (single cycle).
When operating normally, the damper starts turning; when approaching to the end point, the torque reduces gradually till the sealing mechanism compresses tightly; this process is achieved automatically through the hydraulic system. The detection of the turning angle is achieved by the two groups of limit switches and valve position transducers inside the sensor box and the turning angle can be displayed concurrently on the local control cabinet and the main control room. When the damper turns to the angle of 10° or 80°, it goes into the oil cylinder’s buffer area; meanwhile the valve position transducer sends signal and the hydraulic system and electrical system changes into the positioning mode automatically, which guarantees to position the damper accurately. Under the automatic condition, the system shall open the corresponding butterfly valve and the air blower to achieve the dynamic sealing and send two signals of the sealing air pressure (normal and low) in accordance with the position of the damper (0° or 90°).
If user prefers to the special working condition, user can stay the damper at the random position between 10° and 80° in a short time.
